Paul L. Edmiston

Paul L. Edmiston is the Theron L. Peterson and Dorothy R. Peterson Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the College of Wooster. His research focuses on advanced materials for environmental applications, particularly swellable organosilica for water purification and PFAS detection.

Educational background includes a BS from Pepperdine University and PhD from the University of Arizona. His work bridges analytical chemistry and nanotechnology to address contamination challenges.

Publications emphasize environmental monitoring innovations, with recent articles exploring PFAS in rainwater, passive samplers, and catalytic water treatment systems. His research has received major awards including the Popular Mechanics Breakthrough of the Year and MIT Clean Energy Prize.
