Paul Hunter

Professor Paul Hunter is a Professor of Medicine at the Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia. He is affiliated with multiple departments including Population Health, Water Security Research Centre, and Epidemiology and Public Health. His academic background includes an MB ChB from Manchester University (1997), an MBA from the Open University (1996), and fellowships in Public Health Medicine (2005) and the Institute of Biology (1994).

His research focuses on emerging infectious diseases linked to environmental factors, waterborne and foodborne pathogens, zoonotic diseases, and public health responses to disasters. He has coordinated major projects like the EU FP7 AQUAVALENS initiative (€9 million) to improve pathogen detection in water.
