Paul Evans is Assistant Professor at York University's School of Administrative Studies, where he leads the internship component of the Masters of Financial Accountability program. A founding faculty member of the School of Administrative Studies (1972), he has taught financial accounting at York since 1971 and holds CPA, CA designation. His research focuses on medieval Breton abbeys and their economic networks.
Education includes Graduate Diploma in Social & Administrative Studies from University of Oxford and Honours BA in Economics from University of Wales.
Research Focus: Financial systems of medieval Breton abbeys, particularly their 'alien priories' in England. Co-founded the Ancient Abbeys of Brittany Project, a multi-university collaboration examining Cistercian and Augustinian communities. Published on financial transactions in abbey charters and presented at international medieval studies conferences.
Administrative Leadership: Served as Director of the School of Administrative Studies (2008-2011), Undergraduate Program Director, and Treasurer of York University Faculty Association. Organized international colloquiums on medieval monasticism with SSHRC funding.
Teaching: Leads FACC6850 Financial Accountability Practicum, ADMS1500 Introduction to Accounting, ADMS1550 Accounting for Non-Financial Managers, and ADMS2500 Introduction to Financial Accounting.
