Paul Draus is a Professor of Sociology and Director of the Master of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice program at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. He holds affiliations with the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters and the Behavioral Sciences department. His research focuses on urban sociology, substance use, restorative justice, and landscape ecology.
Dr. Draus earned his Ph.D. from Loyola University Chicago in 2001, with early career work in public health and tuberculosis control. His published works explore Detroit’s urban dynamics, green infrastructure, and historical trauma. Recent studies examine alleys, green reparations, and postindustrial ecosystems in cities like Detroit and Berlin.
