Paul Clogher is a Lecturer in Religious Studies and Theology at SETU since 2011, concurrently serving as BA (Hons) Programme Co-ordinator (2013-2018) and Course Leader for the MA in Social Justice and Public Policy since 2017. He holds a PhD from the Pontifical University, Maynooth (2011), alongside earlier degrees from the same institution. His research focuses on cinematic theology, exploring intersections between religion and film through analyses of directors like Martin Scorsese and Paul Schrader. He is an External Examiner for theology programs at Maynooth and an Adjunct Researcher at the Irish Centre for Faith and Culture.
Education highlights include a B.Th (2005), M.Th (2007), and PhD (2011) from Maynooth, with research stints at L'Institut Catholique de Paris. His work critically examines themes like spiritual crisis, redemption, and theological discourse in modern cinema. He actively contributes to academic discourse through the Irish Theological Association and maintains affiliations with multiple research groups at SETU.
