Paul Bryan is a Senior Lecturer in Pure Mathematics at Macquarie University, within the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. His research focuses on curvature flows, geometric analysis, and partial differential equations, with notable contributions to the classification of ancient solutions and geometric inequalities on curved spaces. He has led two major research projects: the 2022–2025 DP22 project on optimal shapes in geometry and physics, and a 2018–2021 analysis project on nonlinear geometric problems.
His work spans curvature flows (e.g., mean curvature flow, Christoffel-Minkowski flows) and explores applications to three-manifolds, hyperbolic metrics, and Minkowski space embeddings. Recent articles investigate sharp distance comparisons on spheres and viscosity approaches to curvature problems. Bryan collaborates internationally and has published extensively in top journals like the Transactions of the American Mathematical Society and the Annali della Scuola Normale.
