Paul A Pavlou is the Dean of the Miami Herbert Business School and holds the Leonard M. Miller University Chair Professorship at the University of Miami. He is affiliated with the Business Technology Department (BTE) within the Business School. His research focuses on information systems, AI applications in business, healthcare management, privacy studies, and the impact of digital platforms on labor markets and consumer behavior.
His recent work explores topics such as smartphone usage in education, neural mechanisms of privacy decisions, and the effects of gig platforms on employment structures. Notable contributions include studies on how clinical quality disclosures affect hospital ratings and interventions to mitigate privacy paradoxes through attention-focused behavioral strategies.
Dr. Pavlou collaborates extensively with institutions globally, evidenced by his international publications and multidisciplinary approach to business technology challenges.
