Patty Coker-Bolt

Patty Coker-Bolt, PhD, OTR/L, FNAP, FAOTA, is a Professor of Occupational Therapy at the College of Health Sciences, High Point University. She specializes in pediatric occupational therapy, particularly for high-risk infants and children with neuromuscular disorders like cerebral palsy (CP).

Her research focuses on early motor delay identification, intervention studies for CP, and intensive therapy programs. She co-edited the first textbook on pediatric Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (P-CIMT) and has authored 38 peer-reviewed articles, 13 book chapters, and 2 position papers for the American Occupational Therapy Association. Dr. Coker-Bolt actively supports the WHO Rehabilitation 2030 initiative through global collaborations and interprofessional medical trips to South Africa, Romania, Uganda, and Nicaragua.

Her scientific awards include the U.S. Fulbright Scholar Award, Fulbright Specialist Awards, and the WFOT Thelma Cardwell Foundation Award for Research. She also contributed to the development of Vietnam's "Rehabilitation Guideline for the Management of Children with Cerebral Palsy – Occupational Therapy," approved by the Vietnamese Ministry of Health in 2018.
