Patrizia Farina

Patrizia Farina serves as a Lecturer of Italian in the Department of Language and Culture within the School of Humanities at Purchase College, State University of New York. She has taught at Purchase College since Fall 2002 while also maintaining a teaching position at Western Connecticut State University.

Education:

• Laurea in Roman History, Università degli Studi di Pisa, Italy
• PhD coursework (ABD) in Roman Archaeology, University of Alberta, Canada

Her academic focus bridges Italian language pedagogy with classical studies, leveraging her background in Roman history and archaeology. At Purchase College, she teaches specialized Italian courses for Voice/Music students alongside general and intermediate Italian sections. She coordinates Western Connecticut State University's Florence Study Abroad program through Florence University of the Arts (F.U.A.) and develops content for the educational YouTube channel "Professor Dave Explains" as an Italian language consultant.
