Professor Patrik Jones is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Life Sciences at Imperial College London, affiliated with multiple research centers including the Centre for Synthetic Biology, Grantham Institute, and Industrial Biotechnology Hub. His work focuses on metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, and biofuel production using cyanobacteria. Key projects include the PHOTOFUEL consortium and the development of C3 Biotechnologies. He has been recognized with the Faculty of Natural Sciences Prize for Excellence in Teaching (2018).
Research interests span industrial biotechnology, enzyme design, and systems biology, with a focus on sustainable chemical production.
