Patrick Sheen is the Automotive Subject Lead and Senior Lecturer at Kingston University's School of Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment. He earned his BEng and MSc degrees in Automotive Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire, holds a PGCert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, and is a Chartered Engineer (iMechE).
His research expertise includes automotive systems design, control technologies, and motorsport optimization. He coordinates the automotive pathway modules at undergraduate levels and mentors the university's Formula Student team, Kingston Racing, helping students apply engineering skills in competitive motorsport environments.
Before joining Kingston, Sheen lectured at the University of Hertfordshire where he taught Mechatronics and Automotive Systems across multiple levels and received the departmental Best Teacher Award in 2019. His teaching philosophy focuses on making complex engineering topics accessible while ensuring students enjoy the learning process.
