Patrick Quinton-Brown

Patrick Quinton-Brown is an Assistant Professor of Political Science and Lee Kong Chian Fellow at the School of Social Sciences (SOSS), Singapore Management University (SMU). He joined SMU in 2023 after serving as a Departmental Lecturer in International Relations and Senior College Lecturer at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on international relations theory, global governance, and postcolonial approaches to international institutions, particularly emphasizing the role of the Global South in historical international society.

His work examines the evolution of humanitarian intervention norms, sovereignty debates, and non-Western diplomatic practices. Recent publications include Intervention before Interventionism (Oxford UP, 2024) and articles in International Affairs and Millennium. His research bridges historical analysis with contemporary global governance challenges, particularly the tensions between Western and Global South perspectives.

Awards include the prestigious Lee Kong Chian Fellowship. Teaching focuses on interventionism and justice in international relations. His research has explored Third World agency in institutions like the Non-Aligned Movement and the Bandung Conference legacy.
