Patrick Meyfroidt is a Professor at Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain), Belgium, and a Research Associate at F.R.S-FNRS (Belgian National Fund for Scientific Research). He held a visiting professorship at the University of British Columbia (UBC) from August 2022 to July 2023, affiliated with the Liu Institute/SPPGA and the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability (IRES).

Research Focus: Meyfroidt investigates land system sustainability through themes such as forest transitions, agricultural/forestry frontiers, globalization's impact on land use, and telecoupling theory. He emphasizes supply chain interventions to combat deforestation, particularly in cocoa production in West Africa and emerging land uses in Mozambique/Southern Africa.
