Patrick Le Galès is a CNRS Research Professor of Sociology and Politics at Sciences Po's Centre for European Studies and Comparative Politics, holding the highest rank of 'classe exceptionnelle'. He served as Dean of Sciences Po's Urban School from 2015 to 2022 and remains actively involved in teaching and research. A corresponding Fellow of the British Academy and member of the Academia Europea, he specializes in urban governance, public policy, and the political sociology of the state.

Research Interests:
His work focuses on urban governance, comparative public policy, and the political economy of cities. He examines how cities navigate conflicts, economic development, and global elites while exploring the restructuring of European states and digital urban governance. Key themes include policy instruments, neoliberal urbanism, and middle-class dynamics in European metropolises.
Recent Work:
Le Galès is editing a book on Parisian metropolitan governance and collaborating on projects comparing urban development in Paris, London, São Paulo, and Mexico City. He also studies financialization in housing markets across Europe.
