Patrick Hébert is an Affiliated Researcher at Université Laval, previously serving as Associate Professor (2005-2011) and Assistant Professor (2000-2005). He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Université Laval (1994), an M.Sc.A. from École Polytechnique de Montréal (1989), and a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from the same institution (1986).
His research focuses on 3D vision, sensor systems, geometric calibration, and computer vision applications. He has contributed to handheld range sensors, sensor fusion, deformable object modeling, and augmented reality. Hébert has taught courses such as Computer Vision (GIF-19263/63517), Programming in C++ with Linux, and Design modules at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
With 49 publications and 20 supervised projects, his work is affiliated with the Computer Vision and Systems Laboratory. His career includes roles at Hexavision Technologies and CNRC-Ottawa, alongside postdoctoral research at LAAS-CNRS (France).
