Patrick Hanington

Patrick Hanington is a Professor and Associate Dean of Education at the University of Alberta's School of Public Health. He holds a BSc (2002), PhD (2008), and postdoctoral training from the University of New Mexico (2010). His research focuses on schistosomiasis control, integrating immunological, environmental, and public health approaches to disrupt parasite transmission from snails to humans. Key projects include molecular cercariometry for waterborne pathogen monitoring and community-driven surveillance programs.
