Patricia Trotel-Aziz

Patricia Trotel-Aziz is an Associate Professor at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne, affiliated with the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences and the Research Unit on Grapevine and Wines in Champagne (URVVC, EA 4707). Her research focuses on plant responses to environmental stressors, including abiotic (water/osmotic stress, chemical pesticides), biotic (pathogens), and anthropic factors, with particular emphasis on grapevine health and protection.

• Research Interests: Metabolic plasticity under stress, biocontrol strategies using beneficial bacteria, induced resistance mechanisms, phytoremediation/rhizoremediation of pollutants, plant-microorganism interactions.
• Teaching: Head of the "Forest and Environment" option in the Professional License Agro-resources and Environment; designed the "Phytoremediation" module for Master's programs; teaches applied ecology, plant pathology, and ecophysiology across multiple curricula.
• Supervision: Co-directed/supervised 2 PhD students, co-supervises a PhD in progress, and mentored 13 trainees (BTSA, L3, M1/M2R).
• Program Coordination: Participated in CPER VINEAL programs (2002-2013), CASDAR V1301 (2013-2017), and international projects like MiDiVine and PANTHEON.
• Technical Expertise: HPLC/CPG metabolite analysis, qPCR gene expression, enzymology, pathogenicity testing, microbial antagonism studies, and physiological assays with plant models.
