Patricia Sneesby is a Lecturer for Spanish at the Institute of Romance Studies at Friedrich Schiller University of Jena since 2014, and a Research Assistant at the Institute of English/American Studies since 2016. She holds a Master of Arts (1994) and a PhD (2006) from the University of Córdoba and Friedrich Schiller University of Jena respectively.
- PhD: Cognitive Linguistics (Metaphor/Metonymy analysis)
- MA: English and General Linguistics
Research Interests focus on cognitive linguistics, particularly cross-linguistic analysis of metonymies and metaphors related to the concept of 'hand' in English, German, and Spanish. She also engages in educational technology research through project-based eTandem learning systems and contributes to Roman archaeology via translation of Spanish scholarly works into English.
Academic Publications show trends in cognitive linguistics (2003, 2009), digital language learning (2017), and Roman archaeology translation (2013). Her work combines theoretical linguistic analysis with practical applications in language education.
Project Involvement includes electronic tandem group support (2015-2016) and long-term collaboration with Córdoba's Institute of Archaeology research group Sísifo (2010-present), providing English translation services for their scientific publications.
