Patricia Lane is an Assistant Professor of Liberal Studies at California State University, Fresno, within the Kremen School of Education and Human Development. She teaches literacy courses in the South Valley Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) and serves as the ITEP Coordinator. Prior to joining Fresno State, Dr. Lane taught at California State University, Bakersfield and served as an Improvement Coach for the Center for Transformational Educator Preparation Programs, where she expanded the Black Educator Teacher Residency. Her prior experience includes roles as a junior high English teacher and school administrator in K-12 settings.

Her work emphasizes identity-affirming pedagogies and systemic support for underrepresented groups in education.

Key themes include policy analysis of student transfer pathways (e.g., Assembly Bill 928), the role of teacher diversity initiatives like the Black Educator Teacher Residency, and the impact of Black Student Unions on campus climate and retention.
