Patricia Green-Powell

Dr. Patricia Green-Powell is a Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), part of the College of Education. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Educational Administration/Leadership from Florida State University and a B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from FAMU. Her career includes leadership roles such as Vice President of Student Affairs at FAMU and Bainbridge College, where she became the first African American female in that position. She established the Florida Adult Literacy Resource Center and currently leads the FAMU Medical Marijuana Education and Research Initiative (MMERI).

Her research focuses on HBCUs, K-12 leadership development, and programmatic initiatives addressing educational equity. She has delivered keynote addresses at institutions like Michigan State University and participated in national conferences on clinical research and veteran healthcare. Dr. Green-Powell is also actively involved in community organizations such as the NAACP, AAUW, and the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra.
