Patricia Gomez

Patricia Gomez is a Senior Lecturer of Communication and Language Studies at Bryant University. She holds an MA and BA in Communications from the University of Texas-Pan American. Her expertise includes teaching Spanish language and culture, business Spanish, and service-learning methodologies. She coordinates Bryant's Spanish language programs, oversees activities like Spanish Days, and advises BUSCO (Bryant's Spanish Cultural Organization). She co-teaches the Sophomore International Experience (SIE) Latin America course, focusing on international business, culture, and service-learning, leading immersive trips to Central and South America. Patricia is also a board member of the Providence Latin American Film Festival (since 2014).

Her research and teaching interests revolve around Spanish language pedagogy, cultural immersion, heritage learning, and service-based education. Patricia has received multiple awards for her teaching and service, including the 2021 Merit Award and 2019 Service Award. She actively contributes to Bryant’s commitment to global education through her leadership in the SIE program and her role in fostering Latin American cultural engagement on campus.
