Patricia CHARLETY-LEPERS

Patricia CHARLETY-LEPERS is a Professor of Economics and Finance at ESSEC Business School, where she currently chairs the Economics Department. Her research focuses on Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Governance, and related fields. She holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the Wharton School (1990) and a Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches from Paris Dauphine University (2005).

She has held academic roles at ESSEC since 1985, progressing from Assistant Professor to Professor (2006–present). She also serves as a Visiting Professor at Keio University (Japan) and a Lecturer at ENSAE (France).

Her research has been recognized with awards, including the Best Article in Finance (2003). She actively contributes to policy groups like the French Institute of Directors (IFA) and has advised institutions such as the Commissariat Général au Plan. Her work spans corporate voting mechanisms, shareholder activism, and gender diversity in central banking.
