Patricia Bourrier

Patricia Bourrier is a Permanent Professor at the School of Nursing and Health Studies within the University of Saint-Boniface. With a Master of Nursing from the University of Manitoba, she coordinates curriculum and continuous improvement initiatives while serving as a Registered Nurse. Her teaching spans Growth and Development, Interpersonal Relationships, Perinatal Family Care, Mental Health Nursing, Community Health, and Complex Care, with direct clinical supervision in mental health and community health settings.

Research Focus: Bourrier's work centers on nursing education innovation, cultural safety in clinical practice, and community health interventions. Her recent peer mentorship scoping review (2024) examines student support systems, while her anti-racist practice reflections (2023) address decolonizing nursing frameworks. The Ouagadougou study (2022) analyzes child health-seeking behaviors in free-market contexts.

Community Engagement: She actively contributes to policy development through roles in the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) standards revisions (2023-2024) and serves on the DPN Advisory Committee since 2021. Her bilingual (English/French) expertise strengthens minority community health initiatives, including intergenerational exchange programs and cultural safety integration projects.
