Patricia A. Brock

Patricia A. Brock, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She serves as Deputy Chair and Executive Medical Director of Inpatient Operations, focusing on improving patient throughput and operational efficiency. A pioneer in oncologic emergency medicine, she founded the annual Oncologic Emergency Medicine Conference and co-developed the first Oncologic Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program.

Her clinical research spans HIV testing, delirium management, and palliative care integration in emergency settings. Currently, she investigates how boarding time affects cancer patient mortality and analyzes emergency department demographics for patients establishing cancer care. She also champions global health initiatives through her non-profit Medical Bridges and the Houston Global Health Collaborative.
