Patrice Belleville is the Associate Head of Operations and an Associate Professor of Teaching in the Department of Computer Science at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He holds offices in the ICICS Building (Room 343) and can be reached via email at patrice@cs.ubc.ca or ah-ops@cs.ubc.ca. His roles include Senior Instructor, Departmental Advisor, and Departmental Scheduling Representative, alongside advising responsibilities for Interdisciplinary Studies Programs (ISP).
Belleville has received multiple accolades for teaching and service, including the UBC Computer Science Undergraduate Team Award and the Dean of Science Excellence in Service Awards (multiple years). He has taught courses such as CPSC 101, CPSC 121 (Models of Computation), CPSC 261 (Basics of Computer Systems), CPSC 313 (Computer Hardware and Operating Systems), and CPSC 320 (Intermediate Algorithm Design and Analysis) across terms from 2014 to 2024.
His teaching focuses on foundational computer science topics, including algorithms, operating systems, and hardware concepts. Belleville’s contributions to education and departmental operations are central to his role at UBC.
