معرفی
Pasquale Ardimento is an Associate Professor in Software Engineering at the University of Bari Aldo Moro, specializing in AI-driven tools for software modeling and educational technologies. His work bridges computational intelligence with software development practices to enhance learning and maintenance processes.
- Ph.D. in Computer Science (2005), University of Bari, thesis: “A Technology for Global Software Development”
- Laurea in Computer Science (1999-2000), University of Bari, with full marks and honors
His research focuses on:
- AI-enhanced software modeling tools like UML Miner, which logs user interactions for conformance checking and personalized feedback.
- Process mining techniques to analyze modeling behavior and detect misconceptions in software engineering education.
- Code analysis and bug-fixing time prediction using large language models (BERT, DistilBERT) and object-oriented design assessment.
- Just-in-time defect prediction via deep learning models (Temporal Convolutional Networks) for proactive software maintenance.
Awarded the National Scientific Habilitation (ASN) in 2023 for permanent Associate Professor positions in Italy, he has served as a Program Committee member, Session Chair, and Workshop Organizer at international conferences (IJCNN, PROFES, HELMeTO) and as a reviewer for journals like IEEE Access and Journal of Systems and Software. His collaborations include the Pennine Research Group during a visiting researcher stay at Durham University (UK).
