Pasha L. HSIEH

Pasha L. Hsieh is a Full-Time Professor of Law and Lee Kong Chian Professor of Law at the Yong Pung How School of Law, Singapore Management University. He holds the Jean Monnet Chair in EU-ASEAN Law and Relations and has served in leadership roles such as Associate Dean (Faculty Matters & Research) and Director of the LLM Programme.

• Education: Ph.D. in Political Science (Free University of Brussels, 2019), J.D. (University of Pennsylvania, 2006), LL.M. (University of Pennsylvania, 2003), LL.B. (National Chengchi University, Taiwan, 2000).

Research Areas include ASEAN Law, WTO and International Economic Law, Public International Law, and cross-border legal issues involving China, Singapore, and Taiwan. His work focuses on green regionalism, Indo-Pacific strategies, and recognition theory in international relations.

His recent publications analyze trends in environmental sustainability within trade law, Asia-Pacific trade integration, and interregional agreements like the EU-Singapore FTA. He has contributed to journals such as the Journal of International Economic Law and World Trade Review.

Scientific Awards include the Jean Monnet Chair (2022–2025), Lee Kong Chian Fellowships, and grants from the Korea Foundation and Sumitomo Foundation. He has also served on editorial boards and the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong.

In addition to his academic roles, he has held legal positions at Shearman & Sterling LLP and the WTO Appellate Body Secretariat, demonstrating a blend of practice and scholarship.
