Pascale Stephanie Petri

Pascale Stephanie Petri serves as Professor of Quantitative Methods and Data Analysis at Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences (HfWU). She holds one of the university's first focus professorships, initiated through the GeBindE project and funded internally for three years starting in winter semester 2024/25.

Her research centers on academic education and good scientific practice through the FELI project (Research and Empirical Laboratory for Innovation in Academic Education). Dr. Petri examines how knowledge is created, how scientific consensus evolves, and what constitutes critical reception of research. Her work addresses fundamental questions about epistemology and the distinction between good versus questionable scientific practices, all aligned with HfWU's mission statement 'Education for Responsibility.'

Dr. Petri teaches Quantitative Methods III, Quantitative and qualitative data analysis, Research Methods, Psychological Diagnostics, and Empirical evaluation methods across HfWU campuses in Nürtingen and Geislingen. A significant aspect of her current work involves investigating the ethical use of AI in academic contexts and establishing guidelines for acceptable research practices when using artificial intelligence tools.

She collaborates extensively with representatives from all HfWU faculties, ombudspersons for good scientific practice, and the MLab methods laboratory to identify cross-faculty needs for enhancing academic education. Her approach represents an innovative, interdisciplinary, research- and transfer-oriented model for connecting research with teaching at HfWU.
