Parviz Yavari

Dr. Parviz Yavari is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), within the College of Engineering. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Shiraz University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Southern California.

His research focuses on materials science, manufacturing processes, simulation, and advanced quality processes. He has authored 23 journal papers, presented over 60 conference papers, and published 100+ technical reports for aerospace industries and military contracts. He holds two patents in process modeling and manufacturing processes.

Dr. Yavari has received prestigious awards including the Northrop Grumman Excellence in Teaching and Scholarship Award and the 2007 ASNT Faculty Award. He currently serves as the undergraduate advisor for Mechanical Engineering (P-Z) and coordinates the Manufacturing Technology Program. His industry experience spans 25 years, including roles as Northrop Grumman Technical Fellow and program manager for major contracts like the "$14M Advanced Lightweight Airframe Structures" project.
