Paraskevas Papanikos is an Associate Professor at the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering of the University of the Aegean. He holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (1989), a Master's in Applied Mechanics from the University of Toronto (1992), and a Ph.D. in Applied Mechanics (1997). His research focuses on structural analysis using finite elements, fracture mechanics, and the mechanical behavior of nanostructures. He has supervised over 160 theses and contributed to over 25 international research projects.
