Paramdeep Sokhy

Paramdeep Sokhy is a Professor of Music Production and Hip-Hop at Trinity Laban, where he has taught on the BA Music Performance and Industry course since 2021. He developed the Hip-Hop elective for third-year students, focusing on London's street culture, production techniques, and hip-hop music within the conservatoire's emerging popular music program.

His professional interests emphasize collaborative creation in music production, drawing from 15+ years in underground hip-hop and R&B scenes. Sokhy champions the philosophy that "nobody's an island" in artistry, stressing how community and trusted teams elevate creative output beyond isolated efforts. His insights blend industry experience with academic instruction, highlighting technology's double-edged role in modern music creation.

At Trinity Laban, he collaborates with Joe Townsend (Head of Popular Music), Reiss Beckles (Popular Music Coordinator), Doug Cartwright, Lucy Potterton, and Tony Briscoe to pioneer the institution's first popular music curriculum. Currently, he's producing Pak-Man's new album following their July 2022 number-one hit "Legendary Still," achieved through grassroots physical sales tactics.
