Dr. Paramaconi Rodriguez Perez is an Ikerbasque Professor at CIC energiGUNE and Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Birmingham. His research focuses on electrochemical energy storage systems, combining electrochemistry with spectroscopy, microscopy, and mass spectrometry to study catalytic surfaces and interface compositions. He has an extensive international career spanning roles at the University of Birmingham (2012–2022), Paul Scherrer Institute (2011–2012), and University of Leiden (2003–2007).
He has authored over 75 peer-reviewed papers (5 as cover articles), 3 book chapters, and holds 2 patents. His work has been recognized with awards like the CIDETEC Award and Ratcliffe Prize. Dr. Rodriguez has directed 11 PhD theses and secured >€2M in grants from research councils, industry, and synchrotron sources.
Research interests include catalyst design, in situ spectroelectrochemical methods, water/CO₂ electrolyzers, and low-temperature fuel cells. He has delivered over 90 invited/plenary lectures globally and maintains active collaborations across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
