Paolo Russo is a Professor of Business Economics and Budget Analysis at the Faculty of Economics of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, where he serves as Scientific Director of the II-level University Master in Accounting and Auditing (MAA) in partnership with EY. He is also an Affiliate Professor of Competitive Strategy at SDA Bocconi School of Management and an Adjunct Professor of Competitive Strategy at Università Bocconi.
His research focuses on corporate strategy, financial analysis, accounting valuations, company valuation, and shareholder value. Recent work investigates the impact of buyers' financial conditions on goodwill impairment, determinants of shareholder value, and integration of strategic positioning evaluation with strategic change evaluation. He has authored numerous books and articles on these topics, including textbooks on financial statements, budget analysis, and business strategy.

Paolo Russo earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Bocconi University, where he graduated in Business Administration. He has advised family-owned and multinational companies on M&A, general management, and restructuring projects, and since 2012 has worked with Chinese firms on acquisitions of Italian companies and IPOs in the Chinese stock market. He was President of the Commission for the qualifying examination for Chartered Accountants at the Catholic University of Milan and is a Certified Public Accountant. He also holds a retired officer status in the Italian Navy, having received the sword and sash of honor for being first classified in the 75th AUC/L course at the Naval Academy of Livorno.
