Paolo Remagnino is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Durham University and Fellow of the Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing. With over 30 years of experience in computer vision and artificial intelligence, he has published more than 180 scientific articles. His research develops innovative methods for image and video interpretation using pattern recognition, machine learning, and distributed intelligence techniques.
His current research includes machine learning algorithms for automatic assessment of natural habitats and health informatics applications for early disease detection. He has secured research funding from numerous organizations including Innovate UK, EPSRC, and EU Horizon 2020 programs. His work bridges computer vision with ecological monitoring and medical diagnostics.
Professor Remagnino's publications demonstrate advancements in 3D human reconstruction, medical image analysis, and synthetic data generation. Recent projects involve deep learning methods for oral cancer detection and robotic habitat monitoring systems.
