معرفی
Paolo Cova is an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering and Architecture at the University of Parma, where he has been actively involved in research and teaching since the mid-1990s. He is affiliated with the School of Engineering and contributes significantly to the fields of electronics and power semiconductor technologies.
- Academic Rank: Associate Professor
- Department: Department of Engineering and Architecture (DIA)
- Institution: University of Parma
- Teaching Areas: Industrial Electronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering
His research focuses on power semiconductors, thermal modeling, reliability of electronic devices, and III-V compound semiconductors. He has led research units in national and European projects related to railway traction systems, space photovoltaic cells, and DC/DC converters. His work bridges theoretical modeling with experimental validation in semiconductor processing and reliability testing.
The recent publications (2025) highlight his engagement in cutting-edge topics such as cryogenic electronics, 3D-printed cooling solutions for power modules, and advanced power converter techniques for fast battery charging. These works reflect a strong trend toward sustainable and high-efficiency electronic systems, particularly in energy conversion and thermal management.
He serves as an Associate Editor for Microelectronics Reliability and has previously acted as Guest Editor and TPC Chair for major conferences in device reliability. He is a frequent reviewer for IEEE journals including IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices and Transactions on Power Electronics.
Paolo Cova has been responsible for the clean room and semiconductor processing facilities at DIA since 1999. He has supervised numerous research projects funded by the Italian Space Agency and European programs. His teaching spans both undergraduate and graduate levels, particularly in electronics and industrial applications for mechanical, computer, and electronic engineering students.
