Prof. Paolo Carloni is a Universitätsprofessor and Director at the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine (INM-9: Computational Biomedicine) at Forschungszentrum Jülich. With over three decades of research experience, he specializes in developing multiscale molecular simulation methods to study biomolecular structure-function relationships. His work spans enzymatic reaction mechanisms, drug resistance, RNA/ligand interactions, and neuroreceptor signaling, recently integrating high-performance computing and machine learning for neurobiological investigations. He holds a Google h-index of 67 and is based at Jülich’s Wilhelm-Johnen-Straße campus in Germany.
