Dr. Paolo Andrich is a Researcher at the University of Oxford's Department of Computer Science, working under Prof. Seth Flaxman. His current role as a Research Associate focuses on developing probabilistic epidemiological models to support healthcare and policy decision-making during emergencies. Prior to this, he worked as a physics researcher studying quantum mechanical properties of nanomaterials before transitioning to data science. Recently, he contributed to humanitarian crisis preparedness efforts at the World Food Programme.
His research interests emphasize Bayesian statistical methods, causal reasoning, and the application of computational tools to public and social policy challenges where data is limited. He bridges disciplines by combining expertise in physics-based modeling with modern machine learning techniques to address real-world policy questions.
Andrich holds a postdoctoral appointment at Oxford and is affiliated with Kellogg College. His work integrates interdisciplinary approaches to enhance evidence-based decision-making in healthcare and global development contexts.
