Paola Inverardi

Paola Inverardi is a Professor in Computer Science at the University of L’Aquila, where she leads the Software Engineering and Architecture Research Group. Her research focuses on applying rigorous methods to software production to enhance quality, particularly in software architectures, mobile applications, and adaptive systems.

She has led significant projects, including the national RIDITT Ricostruire (€1 million funding) and the University of L’Aquila teams in FP7 projects CONNECT (IST-2007-231167) and CHOREOS (IST-2010-257178). Her contributions to software engineering include leadership roles in major conferences (ASE08, ICSE09, ESEC/FSE03) and editorial board memberships for IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering and Springer Computing.

As Chair of the ICSE Steering Committee and a member of the ACM Europe Council, she influences global software engineering discourse. She has supervised 12 PhD students from 2002 to 2012 and delivered invited talks at Simula Laboratories (Oslo, 2011) and QSIC’10 (Zhangjiajie, 2010), addressing uncertainty in future software engineering and dependability in mobile systems.
