Panos Desyllas is a Professor of Strategy at the University of Bath's School of Management and serves as the Management Director of Studies for Postgraduate Research. He holds roles as Vice President of Research Funding at the European Academy of Management (EURAM) and Research Associate at Cambridge University’s Centre for Business Research (CBR). His academic journey includes a first-class BSc in Economics from UCL, an MPhil from Churchill College, University of Cambridge, and a PhD in Management from Cambridge's Judge Business School.
His research focuses on Mergers & Acquisitions, Business Models, and Intellectual Property Management, with contributions to journals like Research Policy and Journal of Management Studies. He has led projects such as the Innovation Bridge Beacon and serves on editorial boards for Long Range Planning and International Business Review. Awards include the 2023 Best Paper Prize from the Strategic Management Society.
Teaching and supervision: He teaches competitive/corporate strategy and welcomes PhD students focusing on IP management and strategic alliances. His work aligns with UN SDG 4 (Quality Education) through academic contributions and executive education programs.
External roles include Co-Chair of the EURAM 2024 Conference and membership in the European Research Council’s panels. His research bridges strategy, innovation, and institutional contexts, emphasizing knowledge transfer and firm performance.
