Dr. Pang Kok Lun is a Lecturer at the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia, where he is actively involved in teaching and research in biomedical sciences. He holds a PhD and Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Newcastle University, UK, and is a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), reflecting his dedication to academic excellence.
- PhD in Biomedical Science, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (2018)
- Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours, Distinction), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (2011)
- Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education, Newcastle University, UK (2022)
His research focuses on cancer biology, cell death mechanisms, apoptosis, and toxicology, with over a decade of experience in in-vitro studies. His work also extends into regenerative medicine, inflammation, and natural product effects on disease models. He has authored more than 30 publications, including book chapters and recent peer-reviewed articles and conference abstracts in 2024.
The recent publications indicate a strong trend toward investigating natural compounds such as resveratrol and tocotrienols in modulating inflammatory and degenerative pathways, particularly in cancer and osteoarthritis. His work integrates molecular biology, cell signaling, and preclinical modeling, often in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The research spans oncology, musculoskeletal health, and toxicology, with applications in drug discovery and regenerative medicine.
Dr. Pang has received notable recognition including:
- Best Oral Presenter, Molecular Diagnostics & Biomarker Discovery Conference 2024
- Senior Fellowship, UK Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), 2024
He is actively engaged in academic service, including peer review for journals such as Heliyon, Frontiers in Nutrition, and Cells, editorial board membership, and supervision of the Young Scholar Program 2024. He also serves on the Board of External Examiners at SEGi College Kuala Lumpur and is a member of the Malaysian Society of Toxicology. These roles highlight his contributions to education, research mentorship, and professional leadership. While specific grants are not listed, his extensive publication and collaborative output suggest ongoing research funding and institutional support.
Dr. Pang is involved in several academic networks and collaborative research projects, particularly in the areas of cancer, osteoarthritis, and natural therapeutics. His editorial and peer-review activities further indicate a strong presence in the global scientific community. His current work emphasizes translational research from bench to bedside, especially in regenerative medicine and molecular oncology.
