Panagiotis Tsakloglou

Panagiotis Tsakloglou is a Professor at the Department of International and European Economic Studies within the School of Economic Sciences at the Athens University of Economics and Business. He is also a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA, Bonn) and the Hellenic Observatory (LSE, London).

His research focuses on economic inequality, poverty, social exclusion, economic returns to education, and the redistributive role of the state. He has published over 90 articles in top-tier journals such as the Quarterly Journal of Economics and Economic Journal, and has participated in more than 50 research and advisory projects.

He has served as Chairman (2012-2014) and member (2002-2004, 2009-2012) of the Council of Economic Experts, and as an advisor to Prime Ministers G. Papandreou and L. Papademos on employment and social policy. He has also held significant roles in EU committees, including the Economic and Financial Committee (EFC) and the Eurogroup Working Group (EWG).
