Panagiotis Petrakis

Panagiotis Petrakis is a Researcher at the Technical University of Crete (TUC), affiliated with the School of Production Engineering and Management and the Structure of Matter and Laser Physics laboratory. He holds a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of East Anglia (1982) and an M.Sc. from the University of Kent (1986). He is currently completing his doctoral thesis on optoelectronic diagnostic systems for agricultural products.

Since 1990, he has been part of TUC's Teaching Staff, delivering laboratory instruction in Physics I and II. Concurrently, he taught “Optoelectronics and Lasers” at the Technical University of Chania (1988–2012). His research focuses on spectroscopic techniques, interferometry, optical absorption measurement methods, and ozone technology applications. He participates in research programs at his laboratory and has served on academic governance bodies like the TUC Senate and the General Assembly of the General Department.
