Panagiotis Kontakos

Dr. Panagiotis Kontakos is an Assistant Professor and Deputy Head of the School of Business and Management at the University of Central Lancashire Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus). He holds a PhD in Global Entrepreneurship from the University of Macedonia and extensive professional experience in banking, risk management, and academia. His research focuses on entrepreneurship, circular economy, energy economics, and regional economic development in the Southeast Europe (SEE), Black Sea, and Eastern Mediterranean regions.

• MPhil in International Finance, University of Glasgow (1996)

Research & Awards: He has authored/co-authored numerous publications, including works on inclusive entrepreneurship policies (OECD), blue economy entrepreneurship, and energy infrastructure projects. Awards include the Fellow Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Best Paper Awards, and an honorary award from the Supreme Interbranch War School.

Teaching & Roles: Course Leader for the MBA program, teaches modules like Global Environment & Business, and chairs the Innovation and Enterprise Committee. He also leads the Sustainable Economic Development (SED) Research Cluster.

Grants & Collaboration: Involved in EU-funded programs like Be.CULTOUR (Horizon 2020) and Urban Sustainability initiatives. Previously led research projects on shadow economy measurement and youth entrepreneurship in Greece.
