Panagiotis Giannarakis

Dr Panagiotis Giannarakis is a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Department of Economics at the University of Southampton, within the School of Economic, Social and Political Sciences. He serves as the Undergraduate Year 1 Senior Tutor and coordinates all Postgraduate Taught (PGT) Programs in Economics, including Programme Lead roles for M.Sc. Economics, M.Sc. Finance & Economics, and M.Sc. Finance & Econometrics (2022–Present). He holds a PhD and is a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy since 2019.

His research focuses on the economics of education, empirical labour economics, and applied macroeconomics/microeconomics. Key interests include job flows and earnings dynamics, labour productivity, and policy-relevant applications of economic theory. He actively supervises PhD students in these areas.

Dr Giannarakis has contributed to teaching innovation and program development at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His academic leadership roles reflect his commitment to both education and applied economic research.
