Pamela Rose

Dr. Pamela Rose is affiliated with the Cairo Branch of the Austrian Archaeological Institute (OeAW), where she leads the archaeological project Hisn al-Bab and serves as assistant director of excavations at Tell el-Dab’a. She specializes in historical building research and holds a degree in Egyptology and Archaeology from the University of Cambridge. Her work includes 12 years leading the Egypt Exploration Society’s mission at Qasr Ibrim (Nubia).

• Fieldwork: Egypt and Sudan, with a focus on pottery studies in Egypt and Nubia

Her research interests include late antique archaeology in Egypt, urban archaeology, and Nubian archaeology. Current projects focus on late antique border dynamics at Hisn al-Bab and harbor research at Tell el-Dab’a. She contributes to interdisciplinary archaeological teams and maintains active involvement in both fieldwork and academic research.
