Dr. Pamela Bhatti is a Professor and Associate Chair for Strategic Initiatives and Innovation at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology. Her work bridges engineering and medicine through innovative research in biomedical sensors, neural prostheses, and cardiac imaging technologies.
- B.S. in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley (1989)
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington (1993)
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (2006)
- M.S. in Clinical Research from Emory University (2013)
Dr. Bhatti's research focuses on overcoming sensory loss in human hearing via focused neural stimulation and developing implantable sensors for medical applications. She also specializes in cardiac imaging for cardiovascular disease assessment, engineering entrepreneurship, and neural prostheses (cochlear and vestibular systems). Her work includes building training programs for engineering-medicine integration and advancing cardiac gating techniques in computed tomography.
She received the Georgia Tech Class of 1934 Outstanding Interdisciplinary Activities Award in 2017 and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Journal of Translational Engineering in Health and Medicine. Additionally, she co-founded Camerad Technologies, a startup dedicated to reducing radiology errors.
