Paige Tynan is a Senior Lecturer in Biosciences at Wrexham University, specializing in forensic taphonomy, decomposition studies, and technological innovations in forensic analysis. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Forensic Science from Wrexham University and a PhD in Forensic Taphonomy from the University of Chester, where her dissertation led to the development of the Decompanion online database for standardizing forensic research.
Her research explores decomposition dynamics, post-mortem interval estimation, and the application of artificial intelligence and 3D modeling in forensic contexts. Recent publications highlight interdisciplinary methodologies, empirical decomposition metrics, and ethical implications of AI integration. Awards include the WorldSkills UK Gold Medal and the British Association for Forensic Anthropology’s Delegates' Choice Award.
Prior roles encompass Science Laboratory Technician, Visiting Lecturer in Human Biology, Sessional Lecturer in Forensic Science, and Science Communicator at Xplore! with a focus on underserved adult groups. She also served as the Academic Research and Development Officer for the British Association for Forensic Anthropology.
