Page Herrlinger is the Frank A. Munsey Professor of History and Chair of Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies at Bowdoin College. His research focuses on religious belief and everyday life in modern Russia, particularly exploring how ordinary people navigated faith during the Soviet era and its legacy in contemporary society. He holds a PhD and MA from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA from Yale University.

He teaches courses on Imperial Russia, the Soviet Union, women's history, and the Holocaust, co-directing NEH seminars for educators in 2019 and 2022.
His research highlights resilient faith communities amid persecution, redefining understandings of Russia's religious and political history. Ongoing interests include female agency in religious contexts and the role of visual culture in historical narratives.
