Pablo Müller

Pablo Müller serves as Head of Research Affairs at the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art (HSLU DFK). He holds a PhD in progress at Leuphana University of Lüneburg on critical practice in the art journal Texte zur Kunst. His academic background includes studies in Fine Arts at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Zurich University of the Arts, alongside Philosophy, Art History, Gender Studies, and History at Universities of Basel and Bern.

His research focuses on art and economy, art criticism, institutional critique, self-organization in the arts, and artistic research methodologies. Müller has been awarded the R & R Prize for art journalism (2011) and contributes regularly to prominent art publications like Kunstbulletin and WOZ Die Wochenzeitung.

Key projects include the PhD Programme ‘Eco-Social Innovation by Design’, the Open Science initiative for arts disciplines (OS-ADM), and the ‘Plattform Sakrallandschaft Zentralschweiz’. He co-edits the online magazine Brand-New-Life and has led significant institutional reform initiatives through his editorial and curatorial work.

Müller’s scholarly contributions span over 20 peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed articles, books, and conference presentations addressing topics such as Soviet Constructivism reception, avant-garde methodologies, and critical art criticism practices. His work bridges artistic praxis with academic inquiry, emphasizing participatory research frameworks and institutional accountability.
