PEDRO JOSE GARCIA HERRADON

Pedro Jose Garcia Herradon is a Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Institute of Agricultural Biodiversity and Rural Development (IBADER). His research focuses on Animal Reproduction, Veterinary Obstetrics, and Dairy Cattle Health.

• Education: PhD in Biology from the University of León (1988) with a thesis on neuroendocrine-immune system interactions in chicken embryos

His recent work includes metabolic risk factors for subclinical endometritis in dairy cattle, welfare benchmarking in free-stall farms, and fatty acid transmission from milk to veal. Notable studies explore hormonal therapies in rabbit and canine reproduction, and ultrasound applications in bovine breeding.

Current projects involve in vitro oocyte maturation techniques with fetal bovine serum supplementation, and postpartum metabolic profiling in high-producing dairy cows. He has published extensively on reproductive efficiency and nutritional interventions in livestock.
